Roma Linked with Two Frenchman

Walter Sabatini and the Roma hierarchy have admitted that they need reinforcements in the January transfer window and the company has indentified two targets in the form of French players. Rudi Garcia has given his approval to try and bring French international midfielder Yohan Cabaye to the capital after the player was very close to a move away from Newcastle in the summer. Roma are prepared to offer €15m for the services of the player and it is expected that Newcastle would find this valuation acceptable.

Roma have also indentified Saint-Étienne’s left-back Faouzi Ghoulam as a suitable reinforcement to the A.S Roma back-line. The French-born Algerian international has been a lock in the Saint-Étienne XI this season and has been at the club since 2010. He is deployed as a left-back but also has the capability to play on the wing. If unable to convince the French club to sell, Roma also like Torino’s Danilo D’Ambrosio, who can play as a right-back, left-back, or a winger on both sides of the midfield.
