Roma travel to Udine on Sunday to take on Antonio Di Natale and the rest of the Zebrette as they look to tie Fabio Capello’s Juventus record of 9 straight wins to open a season.

Roma enter the match wounded up front, as captain Francesco Totti and winger Gervinho are out with knocks, with the former expected to miss up to two months. Rudi Garcia is fully aware that his team will have to adjust in order to come away with three points from a Udinese team who has not lost at home since September 2012, “We may use different tactics, but we have already proved we can do different things. Sunday’s game is a difficult one, they have not lost at home in a long time. I have solutions and, as always, we will go to Udine to win. No one can play as Francesco, but we can do different things. With Borriello, we can cross into the penalty area. With Pjanic and Ljajic we have technique, and Adem may even be able to play more like Totti.”

Udinese, meanwhile, enter as the most lopsided club in Serie A — having collected all of their points in their home fixtures. Giampiero Pinzi, starting central midfielder, is confident that Udinese will be able to hault the Giallorossi’s perfect record, “Roma are going through an incredibly positive period, but we are a good team at home – our strength is the Friuli stadium and Roma know it. They have been doing good, but also lucky enough with easier games at the beginning, facing newly promoted teams not ready for the Serie A yet. I think that if they had lost the first few games after the Coppa Italia final a mess would have happened. We need to recover after the loss to Milan. We don’t seem to be able to win away games, but at home we do better. Roma’s strength lies in the defence. My friend Benatia is making a difference. I am happy for him, but I hope he makes some mistakes on Sunday. I didn’t expect him to adjust so well, because in Rome there is a higher pressure than here in Udine.”

Roma have struggled against Udinese as of late, having drawn one and lost one in the 2012-2013 season. Roma will look to end Udinese’s 22 home match undefeated streak, with their last loss coming against Juventus in September 2012.

Roma and Napoli will meet on Sunday, October 27 at 3:00 CET.
