Garcia’s Pre-Napoli Press Conference

Rudi Garcia had his pre-match press conference today and touched on his players returning from National Team duty, Rafa Benitez, and Roma’s run of form.

You admire Benitez?
He is a great coach and an example to us all because he has won many trophies. I might try to meet with him before the match.

Who takes the place of the suspended Balzaretti?
Who will replace Balzaretti? I’ll decide tomorrow but I have several options. Up until now, whoever has come into the side has done well.

Your players returned healthy?
Strootman and Gervinho are carrying minor problems but we still have a bit of time and there are several players who are ready to play.

Napoli are favored?
Napoli have built a team to win the Scudetto and challenge for the Champions League. I still rate them but we will try to beat them. We just have to think about playing well, not the standings. I hope tomorrow will be a great match and our fans can go home happy.

The Scudetto can be won by Roma?
Win the Scudetto? There are other clubs who are favored. We’ll see how the league turns out further down the line.

Have you considered you may lose tomorrow?
Have I thought about defeat tomorrow? No! I know the best team will win. We’re at home and hopefully this will give us an advantage.

Lots of goals in tomorrow’s match?
There will be plenty of top players on display tomorrow, it has the recipe to be a great match. It could finish 0-0 but I do not think it will.

Have you had enough time to prepare?
We have to put everything into this match, we must be smart and determined. The guys trained very hard this week.

Napoli’s greatest strength?
Napoli is a strong and all-around team. They have talent up front, move the ball around well, and have a keeper who is very good with his feet.

You will go for a win?
There is always a chance during the match when you have an opportunity to win it. We must take this chance when it comes to us and get all 3 points.

Your quick start? You deserve the credit?
Who deserves credit for our great start? The hard work put in by all. We have worked very much on developing our own style of play.
