Analysis:

Six matches, six wins. A perfect record. Roma continued their winning ways with a dominate 5-0 victory at home against Bologna. The Giallorossi remain at the top of the Serie A table with the victory with 18 points.

Roma started out the match with a bang as they were able to score their first goal of the opening half this season in the 8th minute from a wonderful follow-up by Alessandro Florenzi on a free kick by Miralem Pjanic. Just thirty seconds later, Roma almost doubled their lead as brilliant passes from Kevin Strootman and Francesco Totti were nearly topped off by a Federico Balzaretti goal but the left back was unable to finish. Roma doubled their lead in the 17th minute through a beautiful goal by Gervinho, who was able to take on two defenders and slot home. Roma were able to get their third of the half through a corner kick that was volleyed home by Mehdi Benatia.

Roma continued to push the envelope as chances from Pjanic and De Rossi were just wide and the Giallorossi entered the break up 3-0.

The rain continued to pour down in the Eternal City but Roma didn’t seem to be slightly bothered as they picked up where they left off in the first half as they looked to bag more goals. Bologna had few chances but when called into action, Morgan De Sanctis was up to the task. Roma scored their fourth goal as Gervinho scored his first brace as a Roma player by beating his defender and slotting home beautifully. Adem Ljajic then put the bow on the match as he netted Roma’s fifth goal of the encounter from a tight angle.

Roma will travel to Milan next week to take on Walter Mazzarri and Internazionale.
