Outlook:

Roma host Bologna and Stefano Pioli on Sunday as the Giallorossi look to continue their greatest start in their 86 year history.

Roma are coming off a 2-0 victory at Sampdoria while Bologna managed a 3-3 draw against Milan in their respective mid-week fixtures. The draw against Milan saw Bologna still in search for their first win of the 2013-2014 campaign. “I do not think our performances have been as bad as the results say,” said Bologna boss Stefano Pioli, he continued: “Maybe it’s just a lack of concentration that’s put us where we are. Now we have to try and play the game in an even more intense way than before. I have sat down with the boys and gone through the current situation.”

Roma enter the fixture alone at the top of the Serie A table for the first time since 2010. Rudi Garcia’s men are flying high and the manager has instilled in his players that they must focus on the next game and not dwell on their early success: “The most important game is always the next one. That’s the truth. We must stayed focused on our next opponent. You should always set out with the idea you can beat anyone. And right now ‘anyone’ is Bologna, no one else,” proclaimed the Frenchman.

Roma struggled against Bologna last season by only managing one point from two matches against the Emilia-Romagna club, including losing 3-2 at home after leading 2-0. Roma and Bologna will meet at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday at 8:45 CET.
