Contacts For Eto’o

Several Italian outlets have reported that Samuel Eto’o’s agent has contacted Roma regarding his client. Eto’o’s current club, Anzhi Makhachkala, announced they would try to reduce costs as much as possible this summer, which means offloading its top stars and earners such as Eto’o, Willian, and Lacina Traoré. Eto’o currently earns €20m after tax per season and is one of the world’s highest paid players. It is expected that Eto’o will have to reduce his wages by over 50% and will likely earn in the €6.5m t0 €7.5m range. It has also been reported that Roma president James Pallotta is keen to bring the star striker to the capital, as long as it is economically beneficial for both the club and player. Several clubs across Europe, however, have been linked with the former Inter man including Chelsea, Monaco, Manchester United, and Napoli

The only stumbling block that may prevent the striker from coming to the capital are the uknown future’s of Pablo Osvaldo and Marco Borriello. Osvaldo is said to be close to leaving the club and is linked to Southampton and Inter. The club are also desparate to try and offload Marco Borriello due to his high wages of €5.5m per season. The striker still has two years left on his deal and is unlikely to get any playing time for the Giallorossi.
