Roma Rumblings: Borriello Swap, Gervinho Update, and more

Walter Sabatini is set to meet with Enrico Preziosi to discuss a Marco Borriello for Alberto Gilardino swap. Roma did not call up Borriello for its United States Tour in order to expedite a sale for the former Italian international.

Borriello scored 12 goals in 28 appearances last season for the Ligurian based outfit. He has been linked with a move away from Roma for two seasons after loan spells with Juventus and Genoa.

Roma and Arsenal are reportedly close to an agreement for Ivorian winger, Gervinho. It’s reported Roma will compromise with the Gunners on their €8m valuation and it has even been reported that Roma and Gervinho have agreed to personal terms of €2.7m per season.

Italian mercato specialist, Gianluca Di Marzio, believes a deal should be completed by the end of this week.

TuttoMercatoWeb is reporting that Inter have contacted Roma regarding Brazilian midfielder, Marquinho. They report that newly appointed manager Walter Mazzarri, greatly admires the Brazilian and sees him as a perfect fit for his 3-5-2.

Marquinho featured mostly as a substitute for Roma last season, appearing in 30 matches while scoring 4 goals and assisting on 2. Roma paid €3.75m for Marquinho and will likely look to recoup that amount if they decide to sell the Brazilian.
